Signify recently developed a modernized version of their classic streetlights with an adjustable RGBW uplight for city-wide ambiance.
Napkin Design built a new hardware platform and the large-scale IOT software systems responsible for management and control. The result is a cost-optimized hardware design ready for mass manufacture and a cloud-based, easy-to-use interface for controls. It is a scalable and flexible solution that we can expand over time, which Signfiy already has implemented in several major European municipalities.
Petersen-Bach is Denmark’s leading supplier of intelligent solutions for the protection of valuables. Among their solutions is a range of portable cases to transport cash, living up to the industry’s toughest demands for security level, operational reliability, user-friendliness, and ergonomics.
Napkin Design has designed the mechanical components for Petersen-Bach’s next-generation cases and seamlessly integrated all the electronic, pyrotechnic, and chemical components into the design. We tailored the new design so that 80% of the components are FDM 3D printed. This design methodology enables Petersen-Bach to manufacture smaller series as needed and allows a dynamic design response to market feedback.
Merlin400 is the world’s first completely automated, small-scale alcohol extractor for the domestic production of high-quality extracts from herbs and cannabis. It is a cost-effective device based entirely on food-grade approved 3D printing.
Napkin Design has been the development partner from start to finish in developing and launching the device. The Merlin extractor is sold globally today and resulted from several years of work. Napkin Design has created the 3D printed parts and electronics, fully implemented the firmware, and integrated it with AWS services and a progressive web app.
DTU Electro / Photonics is a world-leading research institute in the absolute fundamentals of light and electricity, namely photons and electrons. DTU Photonics has been, and is, a front-runner in developing the Danish LED industry.
Napkin Design has designed, engineered, and manufactured an LED-based UV lamp for DTU Photonics based on a specific monochromatic wavelength. The resulting LED fixture increases the in vitro vitamin D production in piglets, reducing mortality in the young pig population in Danish swine production. We designed and manufactured a similar LED-based system to kill the swine flu virus (H1N1) without using chemicals.

4K Projects is a Danish company that manages, plans, and executes every aspect of Lighting, Video, Cameras, and Visuals in the Live Event industry, both within Corporate and entertainment. 4K Projects has built a world-class infrastructure and studio for live-streaming events for companies.
Napkin Design manufactured a series of AV splitters on record time for an upcoming show. 4K supplied the design themselves but needed the manufacturing of 222 different parts done during the weekend. All the parts were manufactured on time, assembled, and used directly in 4K’s subsequent production. Using Napkin Design’s 3D printer capacity and manufacturing experience, they could pull off a show with short notice.
